Gratuity

Best practices and guidance on gratuity are some of the more frequently asked questions we receive from our guests. To ease this process for those who have expressed interest in providing gratuity to our team during their stay, we have outlined the following options.

Please Note: Gratuities at Cayo Espanto are completely at your discretion and while very much appreciated, are not required.

Based on nightly rates for stay, we suggest:

Housemen: $70 per day
Housemen Assistant: $20 per day
Housekeeping: $10 per day
Support Staff*: $50
Total $150 per day

(*Support staff includes Everyone, and is split equally amongst all eligible employees: All Villa Staff, Kitchen, Office, Maintenance, Boat Drivers, Activity Crews, and everyone else who helps behind the scenes. We have a staff of 50+ team members.)

Four Tours, Massages & Spa treatments 15-20% of the cost of the service is recommended, if the service you received warrants a tip.

You may simply leave any gratuity you wish given to staff on your final bill at check-out/

If you would like, we can provide a separate gratuity form so you can choose to tip separately, any specific staff member you choose.

Another option:

You can choose to tip 10% of your villa rack rate. (This will only be calculated on your villa rate, and will not be calculated on any taxes or other fees paid)

This range would be very generous and can run: $210 – $320 per day depending on your nightly rate, and the number of guests that stayed. ($290 – $400 per day for stays over Christmas and New Years).
